Corfu laundries

The narrow streets of the old Corfu town is the place where the landladies hang everyday's laundry using a rope and a tackle block. And so, when you walk around in the backstreets of the old town you have a sky full of flying clothes over your head.
It is sad that since UNESCO declared the old city of Corfu a cultural monument, the officials have issued an order to stop this kind of wash line phenomenon and will help each house buy its own clothes dryer.
